Stuttgarden Tavern In Texas City
Dated: May 15 2017
After Hurricane Ike, the Mall of the Mainland never really came back to life. Dillard's had too much damage to open their doors so FEMA leased the space. Then Macy's closed and the mall just sat there with only a off brand furniture store, Sears and a cinema for years.
On August 15, 2015 developer Jerome Karam took the Mall and started revitalizing the damaged building into a mecca of entertainment. The cinema and Sears are still part of the make up of Mr. Karam's plan, but much has been added or changed. Palais Royal moved to the bottom floor of the old Macy's building and Mr. Karam developed the 2nd floor with a World's Gym.
My favorite part of this development was that Mr. Karam enticed Stuttgarden Tavern to open in the space that once was occupied by Garfield's. Texas City needed a place where you could leave the movie and grab a quick bite or maybe a drink. Stuttgarden has a Tavern in Kemah and in Galveston http://www.stuttgardentavern.com/ . If you have not been in there yet, stop by. Great atmosphere for all ages. The table games inside keep the kids occupied and the outside beer garden is full for everyone.
Some of their unique features are the Reverse Happy Hour, 30 on tap beers, the kitchen stays open to 1 AM and Wednesday night Trivia. Enjoy!
